Ah the Bath Christmas Market. Love it or loathe it, it’s back once again from November 26th to bathe the city in twinkly lights, buttery bratwurst, and more bobble hats than you can shake a candy cane at.
Now, we know what you’re thinking: “The Grapes must be bracing for impact.”
Well… yes. But honestly? We’re used to it. We’re as ready as ever, and frankly we don’t really need to advertise the fact that we’re open — the pub will be bursting at the floorboards as it always is during these mulled-wine-fuelled weeks.
But we would like to give you a little inside scoop about where to escape the madness. Because while the city spins out into cinnamon-scented chaos, we’ll be here doing what we do best: serving cracking pints, holding glorious midweek sessions, and giving you all a sanctuary from the stampede
The Grapes Off-Grid Glühwein Bar
For the third year running, we’ll have our little festive stall tucked away behind the pub in St Michael’s Place — that cosy nook by the Little Theatre that feels just far enough from the raging river of shoppersand dawdlers.

German sausage game? STRONG. Thanks to the legends at Larkhall Butchers, we’ve got Boerewors on the grill. Prepare to be sausage-satisfied.
The stall will be open every day except Tuesdays and Wednesdays until December 14th, because even we need a little recovery time.
Once the market packs up and the city exhales, we’ve got one last piece of Christmas spirit up our sleeve:
“A Very Skiffle Christmas” – Sunday 21st December, 4pm
Think you know Christmas carols? Think again. Bath Skiffle are rolling into the bar to deliver gospel, groove, and some festive numbers you definitely won’t have heard in church. It’s soulful, it’s swingy, it’s not “Silent Night.”
So whether you’re fleeing the market hordes, heading home with a boot full of baubles, or simply in need of a sausage and a sip — we’ve got you.
