There’s something about the days between Christmas and New Year that invites a pause.
The city keeps moving, visitors keep arriving, but it’s all very cosy and snuggly at this time of year with folks wearing their new hats and scarves and catching up with friends and relatives that affords us at the pub a bit of time to take stock — of the year just gone, the lessons learned, and the things quietly lining up for the year ahead (of which, as ever, there are quite a few).
At The Grapes, Twixmas is exactly that: a warm, familiar pub in the heart of Bath, open as normal, doing what it does best while the rest of the city catches its breath.
Open as Normal, All Through Twixmas
If you’re wondering whether we’re open — we are.
We only ever close on Christmas Day (and that was so we could wax oil the floors) so no strange hours, no surprises. Just good drinks, friendly faces, and the comforting rhythm of a proper local pub while everyone figures out what day of the week it is.
Whether you’re:
-
escaping the house
-
showing visitors a favourite Bath pub
-
meeting friends you haven’t seen all year
-
or simply in need of a calm corner, a decent pint and a friendly face behind the bar
You’ll find us exactly where you expect us to be.
A Moment Between Years
This time of year always brings a little reflection with it.
The madness of the past twelve months has certainly had an impact but we have prevailed and we can take a bit of time to look towards fresh ideas, new energy, and a year that already feels like it’s going to be a blast!
We won’t labour the point. We’ll just say that 2026 has a good feel about it.
Local Legends Live: New Year’s Eve at The Grapes
Open until 4am
When it is time to celebrate, we’re doing it the only way we know how — with people we love, live music, and a dancefloor full of familiar faces.
Our Local Legends Live New Year’s Eve kicks off early and runs late:
🎶 Jam on Toast
Starting the night the right way, easing us gently into the evening.
🎸 Bear At The House
Live on stage, bringing the energy up a notch as the night gathers pace.
✨ Somerset Velvet
Welcoming in the New Year with style, sound, and just the right amount of drama.
💿 The Swirl Girls
(aka Charlie & Henry — once Grapes crew, always Grapes family)
Spinning vinyl and keeping the dancefloor moving right through until close.
We’ll be open until 4am, so there’s no rush, no pressure — just a proper night out with the people who make this place what it is.
See Out 2025, Start 2026 Together
Whether you’re popping in during Twixmas for a quiet pint, or dancing your way into the New Year with us, The Grapes remains what it’s always been: a place to gather, reflect, celebrate, and look forward.
Here’s to the space between years — and everything that’s coming next.
